The quality of Jodys horses for sale stand out and Bundle was no exception with my friend spotting him in the H&P magazine.

With Jodys upstanding reputation throughout NZ not only as a rider but also for schooling and selling on top quality dressage horses, a flight North was inevitable.  Needless to say a purchase was made.

I found her honest and open - an absolute professional with a sense of humor.

I was in the market to buy a horse.  It was a stressful time for me.  I had had a nasty fall resulting in 3x broken ribs off my current horse, whom i was very emotionally attached to.  This fall was the realisation for me that she wasn't able to take me where i wanted to go competitively.

I was looking for a horse over 16h, had decided to try a gelding this time and with good paces but a SJ/SH with the scope to go to 1.20m.  I started my search in Nov, being in Queenstown it is not the easiest area for choice.  I flew to ChCh and Nelson where I had two choices lined up, neither of these horse's were suitable.

The next month I flew to Wellington this horse I did attempt to purchase subject to a vet check but it failed a part of the check quite badly.

I had become quite dispondent by this time, everything was either ridicously priced, or POA, which is so unfair as what is POA!!  I was searching websites, magazines, and had watched alot of video's that were sent back with 'thanks but no thanks'.  I had emailed Jody Hartsone on the off chance she may have something suitable.

She replied with information on a gelding she had that may be suitable.

After various phone discussions we both agreed he was worth me pursuing.  Being just after January, trying to organise flights and a suitable w/end for both parties was difficult and i was concerned the horse would be snapped up by a North Island party.  However Jody was very very accomodating and the horse was 'under offer' so to speak, until we found a ambical date.

I flew to Auckland and Jody emailed me very simple and precise instructions on how to drive to her.

I found Jody to be 100% straight up, the horse i was looking at had a few trained repsonses that needed the right person to fix or sort, these i had been made aware of before booking flights.  I enjoyed the horse first ride and wanted to carry on riding him.  I tried others the next day but was very excited to get back to Jody to Ciaran.

Jody hid nothing, and the whole trial process was very relaxed and non intimidating.  She knew the horse well as she had breed him and then onsold him 2x year previous, however that partnership didn't work so she was selling him on again.  My only regret was i didn't have more time to spend with her!

When I left I agreed to purchase him subject to a vet check.  Jody knew I wanted the horse 'yesterday', she organised everything and by the following Friday Ciaran was on a transporter on his way to the deep south.

I have kept intouch with Jody on Ciaran's progress, she has shown a genuine interest in his progress, and one of the most valuable things she could've done for me was point me in Andrew McLean's direction.  Reading that book has helped me immensly with Ciaran, who has come along leaps and bounds, and is almost a different horse than the one who arrived, he has been a great challenge and I am thoroughly enjoying riding him.

Jody is infact starting his full brother at present, if i had unlimited space, time and money i wouldn't hesitate to purchase him as well!  I hopefully won't be on the search for a new horse again for awhile but Jody will be my first point of contact.
