“Ciaran” (this name is the Gaelic form of Kerrin and means ‘little dark one’) is a beautiful looking gelding with lovely forward moving paces and a sensible but sensitive mind. He has correct conformation and is nicely marked.

He was bred by us here at Karioi Sport Horses, and has been broken in and brought along carefully from the beginning. He is from a very well performed family. His sire Belmont Golden Boy is NZ’s current Advanced Dressage Champion. His dam Belmont Ballerina has won several Championships in hand including being Reserve Supreme at the Horse of the Year Show as a 3 year old. Ballerina’s sire is the imported Belgium Warmblood Gruenhorn du Trichon (himself an advanced eventer and advanced dressage horse) and Ballerina’s dam was a B Grade showjumper called “Gloss” (by the Dutch Warmblood Polaris). These bloodlines make Ciaran a third generation NZ Warmblood. As such he is branded and has registration papers etc.

Ciaran has talent for both dressage and jumping. He has been hacked out, road and beach ridden, alone and in company. He is great to truck, shoe etc. He is suited to an experienced rider looking for a talented, sensitive young horse to take to the top.
