Sire: Belmont Golden Boy (NZ Warmblood)
Dam: Ballymena (unreg TB)
Born: 1998
Colour: Bay
Height: 15.2hh
Ashling is a wonderful young horse with plenty of untapped potential. I began to break her in as a three-year old, but she was so easy that I left her after a week, and she had a year off to grow! This is one that was born broken in!
She is by our resident sire Belmont Golden Boy who has been National Champion and Dressage Horse of the Year at Advanced level. Her dam Ballymena was used here for many seasons as a broodmare. All of her foals have been kind natured and sweet.
As a four year old she was re-backed and turned away again. She spent her five year old year with a neighbor of mine, getting used as a farm hack, and getting ridden down the beach from time to time.
Now Ashling is back with me and has commenced a little formal training. She has three very good paces, especially a great trot. She is athletic enough to be an eventer, and quiet enough to be a pleasure hack. She loves to please and has the sweetest nature of any horse I know. Her name is Gaelic and means “dream or vision” and she certainly lives up to this. She has no known soundness issues.
I have priced her very reasonably at $5,000 plus GST as she is surplus to requirements here and needs to go to a kind loving home where she can fulfill her potential.
